Reports in Australia are emerging which suggest that Parramatta half-back Kieran Foran has asked the Eels to release him from the remainder of his playing contract with the club.
Foran has endured a tough time away from rugby league this year, and the New Zealand star’s manager has sent a message to Australia’s Channel 9 confirming that he is seeking a break from the sport for an undetermined amount of time.
The statement read: “Kieran Foran has informed the Parramatta Eels that he needs indefinite leave from rugby league.
“Foran told coach Brad Arthur of his decision yesterday and is grateful for the support he received from Arthur and the club.”
Foran himself said: “Right now my health and family are my concenrs and I hope that the clubs and supporters of the Eels respect that. I want to thank the Eels for everything they have done for me.”
