Kiwi international Rapira heading for Super League

Super League is set to get more international experience in 2016, after New Zealand international Sam Rapira announced he is heading for England’s top flight next year.

Rapira, who has spent his entire career with the New Zealand Warriors to date, has confirmed he will leave the NRL at the end of this season, with a Super League club his apparent destination.

Rapira was part of the New Zealand side that won the Rugby League World Cup in 2008, and he has appeared over 150 times for the Warriors since making his debut back in 2006.

“It was tough to tell the boys but I know it’s time for me to move on,” he told the club’s official website.

“The Vodafone Warriors club has been a massive part of my life. I am very grateful to my family and all my supporters.

“It was a hard decision but I’m pleased to have the next stage of my career sorted.”
