Koukash refutes Rangi Chase rumours

Salford Red Devils owner Marwan Koukash has poured cold water on claims star signing Rangi Chase has been plagued by alleged off-field problems, and hopes he will be back in action this weekend.

England international Chase has missed the last four games for the Red Devils, but could be in line for a sensational return against former club Castleford Tigers this weekend.

Koukash is adamant that Chase, who was injured in the Reds’ opening Super League game against Wakefield, has not been wrestling with personal issues in recent weeks while sidelined.

“I have heard these nasty rumours and they are not even worth talking about,” Koukash told MEN Sport.

“He is perfectly fine and looking to be back playing again this Sunday.

“Rangi has been injured and has been working very hard to return.”

Chase sustained a leg injury and limped off after 20 minutes against Wakefield. In his absence, Salford have lost their last three games and need a boost against the unbeaten Tigers.
