KR told me I was free to go, admits Jordan Cox

Warrington Wolves forward Jordan Cox has revealed his move to Hull KR came about after the Robins told him he was free to leave the club.

League Express revealed on Monday how Cox had attracted the attention of the Wolves for 2016 – with the deal completed and made public just 24 hours later.

And Cox told the Warrington Guardian that his move happened after the Robins revealed to him he could leave, and says he’s settled in well at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

“I had another year on my deal, but Rovers didn’t see me in their plans so said I was free to go,” explained Cox. “Tony rang me and said he was interested, so the timing’s been impeccable and everything’s fallen into place well.

“Coming to a club like Warrington is massive. I slotted in with the lads really well and the coaching and back-room staff have made me feel welcome,” he added.

“I want to play but at the minute I’m just focusing on pre-season, working hard and getting my face in Tony’s mind for selection and I can kick on from there.

“First things first I’ve got to impress the lads and gain their respect, and then impress the coach so he sees me in his 17 from Round One.”
