Kurt Haggerty on time as Bradford Bulls head coach so far and the jump from assistant

BRADFORD BULLS head coach Kurt Haggerty has labelled the opening few months of Super League as a ‘rollercoaster’.

The Bulls were one of three Championship sides to be given the nod to join the top flight ahead of the 2026 campaign.

And Bradford currently occupy eighth position on the Super League ladder with three wins from seven games.

All three promoted sides impressing in the opening quarter of the season, and Haggerty believes that the Bulls are earning the respect of their top flight rivals.

“We are earning respect, that was always our narrative from when we came back into Super League,” Haggerty said.

“Even in our tough weeks we have shown we don’t give up and we think we’ve put a product on the field that is entertaining to watch.

“This is a big rollercoaster, it will continuously go up and down but we are strapped in and ready for the ride.

“We’ve competed in every game we have been in, we have lost little moments that have turned into big moments but every game to us is really exciting.”

How does Haggerty assess the jump from assistant coach to being a head coach in Super League?

“I’ve loved it, I’m working at a fantastic club and I’ve got a fantastic set of staff around me.

“I still pinch myself that I am the head coach of Bradford Bulls in Super League.”

Has it been tougher than he expected?

“When you’ve worked at clubs like Salford and Toronto, there’s not much more you can face!

“There are not many things that can shock me now in rugby league apart from injuries.”
