Former Canterbury Bulldogs centre Tim Lafai has signed a two-year deal with St George Illawarra Dragons.
The Samoan international had been released by the Bulldogs to make way for Will Hopoate, which created speculation that Lafai may head to Super League.
But those rumours were quashed after he put pen to paper on a deal with the Dragons, who were also thought to be interested in signing Dally M centre of the year James Roberts.
Roberts is now expected to sign for Brisbane Broncos.
