LEEDS RHINOS have extended the contracts of assistant coaches Scott Grix and Jamie Langley to the end of the 2028 season.
Former Huddersfield Giants and Wakefield Trinity back Grix, 41 (pictured), joined Leeds full-time at the start of the 2023 season.
He had previously worked part-time for the club, combining that role with one at Halifax Panthers, where his younger brother Simon was then coach.
Former Bradford Bulls, England and Great Britain forward Langley, also 41, arrived at Leeds a year ago after a stint working in rugby union with Sale Sharks.
Before that he was part of the coaching staff at London Broncos.
Head coach Brad Arthur, who in August agreed to stay at Leeds for 2026 with an option to extend that deal, said: “Scott and Jamie are outstanding operators and key leaders in our environment. Their knowledge, energy and connection with the players are huge assets.”
Leeds are aiming to build on last season’s fourth-placed Super League finish.
Grix said: “I’m excited to be part of us taking the next step. We’ve got great continuity in the staff and the playing group, and we’re already seeing in pre-season that we’re picking up where we left off.
“It’s a really collaborative environment, and everyone is heading in the same direction.”
Langley added: “I’m really pleased to be continuing. We’ve got a brilliant group of players who are hungry to improve, and a coaching team that is aligned and driven.
“The foundations we’ve laid give us a real platform for success, and I’m excited for what the next three years can bring.”
Sporting director Ian Blease said: “Scott and Jamie’s professionalism and expertise have been instrumental in the team’s progression, particularly in bringing through young talent and driving high standards across the board.
“Stability in quality people is essential, and these extensions reflect our belief in the coaching team we’ve assembled.”
Leeds have also brought in Marlon Billy as head of player welfare. He held similar roles at Salford Red Devils and Huddersfield Giants.
