In-form Leeds Rhinos winger Tom Briscoe admits he is seeking a return to the international fold this year, after expressing his disappointment in failing to make the cut for the Four Nations last year.
Briscoe enjoyed a decent enough first season at the Rhinos in 2014, but missed out in favour of wingers such as Wigan’s Joe Burgess and Josh Charnley for the tournament Down Under last year.
And he said that whilst he wants to focus on his club form first and foremost, he’s setting his sights on an eventual return to Steve McNamara’s squad.
“I thought overall I played pretty well last year, but I am looking to improve and move on this season and carry on the way I’ve started,” Briscoe told the Yorkshire Evening Post.
“I was disappointed I didn’t make the England squad last year and it is one of my aims for the end of the season, but, at the minute, and for the near future I am just concentrating on playing well for Leeds.
“Whatever happens on the back of that is a bonus.”
