Leeds trio in Featherstone squad for Bulls clash

Ash Handley, Mitch Achurch and Jordan Baldwinson have all been named in Featherstone’s 19-man squad to face Bradford this weekend.

All three were left out of Leeds’ squad to face Warrington on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Rovers hand competitive debuts to eight new signings, including Anthony Thackeray and Misi Taulapapa.

Jon Sharp said “We are fit and raring to go. The way we finished last season was important for a couple of reasons, firstly it gave the whole club a lift and great day out in Widnes, secondly, it gave the team some momentum and positivity going into this season.

“Pre-season has gone really well, and we’ve improved week on week. It’s a long time since the beginning of November when we started and we’ve all worked hard. During the pre-season friendly schedule I think we have improved week on week, particularly defensively compared to our first game at Castleford over Christmas.

“Last week attacking wise I thought we had significantly improved and it gave us an insight to the potential of Briggs and Thackeray linking up in the halves and Craven at full back. We looked a lot smoother with those three on the field and lot more fluid.”
