London go top after Sheffield rout

London moved to the top of the Championship following a 56-24 victory over Sheffield.

A ten-try rout over the struggling Eagles moves them to the summit of the Championship, one point ahead of Leigh, who have a game in hand.

London raced into an early lead following tries through William Barthau, Wes Naiqama and Rhys Williams before Ben Blackmore pulled one back for Sheffield.

The lead was 26-12 by half-time. Matty Garside got in on the act for the Broncos, and although Menzie Yere and the Championship’s leading scorer Rob Worrincy touched down, Barthau’s second gave London a commanding lead.

Andrew’s Henderson’s side raced away with it the second half with a further five tries, giving the Broncos another win and hampering Sheffield’s top four ambitions in the process.
