SWINTON LIONS have reunited the Lynch brothers, Danny and Aaron, two years after the Irish international pair first joined the club together.
Aaron, 24, quickly established himself as a regular at centre, and has scored eleven tries in 38 appearances.
But Danny, who is five years older than his sibling and operates in the front row, only turned out twice for the Lions.
After playing three times for Rochdale Hornets earlier this year, Danny Lynch signed for Salford and played 14 games.
He’s now returned to the club and will play alongside his brother, who has penned a one-year contract extension.
“Having spoken to Danny, he comes across really well and has a great attitude,” said Anthony Murray, who has been Swinton head coach since March.
“I’m confident he’ll be a fantastic addition to the squad, both on and off the field.
“I’m sure the Swinton faithful will take to Danny straight away, and we’re all looking forward to seeing him in a Lions shirt.”
On his brother, Murray added: “Aaron is a tough, committed competitor who leads by example every time he pulls on the shirt.
“What makes his journey even more impressive is that he was playing in the community game (for St Helens-based Haresfinch) not so long ago.
“His development has been exceptional and is a testament to the effort, dedication and commitment he puts into improving every day.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing Aaron continue to go from strength to strength this season, and I know he’ll play another huge role for us.”
Swinton finished last season with twins in their side, after Dylan Kelly-Duffy signed in July to join fellow prop Trent.
Trent Kelly-Duffy has signed up for a third season at Heywood Road but his brother’s future has not been confirmed.
