Manly weathers the Storm

Last placed Manly, whose only win of the year thus far came against the Melbourne Storm, have repeated the result with a hard fought 12-10 victory on a cold and wet night in Melbourne.

Manly kicked an early penalty goal before tries to Marika Koribete and Cooper Cronk gave the Storm a 10-2 lead at the break.

As the rain began to fall early in the second half, so did the number of penalties in Manly’s favour, which eventually proved too much for the Storm defence, when Tom Symonds scored to reduce Manly’s deficit to 4.

Recently returned winger David Williams scored a try inside the last ten minutes which he converted to give Manly a two point victory.
