Hull Kingston Rovers coach James Webster has revealed that Josh Mantellato is set for a spell on the sidelines after missing Monday’s loss at Wigan Warriors – after he played the ENTIRE game against Hull on Good Friday with a broken arm.
The Robins are sweating on medical reports in relation to Mantellato’s injury, with fears he could miss longer than a month if he needs a plate in his arm.
Webster admits he’s hopeful he could only miss a month’s worth of action, but revealed the incredible news that he played the whole of the derby with the injury last Friday.
“Josh Mantellato will not be back, he played the whole game against Hull with a broken arm.
“We are waiting to find out what is happening with that or if he needs a plate in his arm. Hopefully it will be a month job so we’ll see how that goes.”
Despite coming up narrowly short against Wigan with a whole host of first-teamers out, Webster admitted he was proud of what his players produced on Monday night, too.
“I am not going to hide my disappointment from losing, rugby league is about winning at this level,” said Webster. “It would be unrealistic of me if I wasn’t proud of what they turned out.
