Marshall looking for improvement in Fax

Halifax lost 44-22 at Bradford Bulls. Coach Richard Marshall said: “We blooded a couple of our younger players, we wanted to see how they’d go. At times we weren’t far off Bradford, who put out one of the strongest teams they’ve had all year.

“There was some improvement there, so we’ll look to improve again against Dewsbury this week and hopefully that might be enough for us to get a win.”

Loose forward Jacob Fairbank, second row Dane Manning and possibly hooker Ben Kaye could return this week.

Dewsbury Rams lost 34-24 at Workington Town. Coach Glenn Morrison said: “It was a tough 80 minutes. We didn’t start very well but got into the game after 15 minutes, even though we were a man down for most of it. We dominated the game until we got another man down and went to 11 players and they scored 18 points. You can’t compete at any level with 11 v 13.

“Halifax are a quality side. Missing out on the top four hurt them a little bit but we know that on their day they are a top four side. It’s going to be tough, we need to bounce back ourselves.”

Second row Toby Adamson looks to be side-lined again with a bicep injury.
