Salford Red Devils owner Marwan Koukash has confirmed that the club are preparing to offer an extended contract to Marc Sneyd, with Koukash admitting he will be back with the club when his loan spell ends at Castleford Tigers.
Sneyd has played a key role in Castleford’s outstanding first half to the season, striking up a sensational partnership with Liam Finn to put the club in third place after 13 games of the season. Koukash admits it was a mistake to let Sneyd head to West Yorkshire for the season, but says they will not make the same error again, and Sneyd will be very much at Salford in 2015.
“We do not have as much talent as, say, Wigan but what we do have, we intend to keep hold of. Mark Sneyd will definitely be back at Salford next year,” Koukash said.
“Long gone are the days when we allowed other clubs to take our top young players.
“Keeping hold of them and developing them is how you build for the future. This is our plan.”
