Millionaire Salford Red Devils owner Dr Marwan Koukash has confirmed he is interested in buying struggling NRL club Newcastle Knights.
Rumours linking the 55-year-old with the club, now controlled by the NRL after an ownership drama, have been rife, and he took to Twitter to clear up the matter.
He said: “I would confirm that there has been some contact with an NRL team but it is very early days.
“My absolute focus remains on the Red Devils.”
