Leeds Rhinos coach Brian McDermott has admitted that whilst it does look similar to last year’s post-Wembley implosion, the Rhinos form does not worry him heading into the latter part of 2015.
Leeds suffered their third straight loss after the Challenge Cup win last month by slipping to another home defeat to Castleford on Thursday, losing 29-22.
And McDermott said he completely trusts his group of players to get themselves out of trouble, starting with next Friday’s huge clash against Huddersfield which could decide whether they get a home semi-final or not.
“We’re missing too many tackles and dropping too much ball, that’s the plain and simple fact of it,” he said.
“Yes it looks like last year, don’t ask me why, we’re not doing anything different in training but we’re not playing well.
“Am I concerned? No, I trust the group. We’re in a bit of a hole at the moment and we’ve got to dig ourselves out of it but I’d rather not be with any other group. They’re a fantastic bunch.”
