McIlorum out for the season

Wigan Warriors head coach Shaun Wane has confirmed that Michael McIlorum is expected to miss the rest of the season after having an operation on his ankle.

McIlorum was stretchered off in Wigan’s defeat to Brisbane Broncos, with it later confirmed that he had broken and dislocated his ankle.

It was originally expected he would be out until around August, however Wane has confirmed it is likely to be longer.

“Micky’s operation went well,” he said.

“The surgeon is really happy. It will be a long one, I can’t see him playing again this year.” he said.
