Meninga to rotate Australian squad for opener against Scotland

Australia coach Mal Meninga has revealed he will be playing a rotated squad in next weekend’s Four Nations opener against Scotland.

The game, played at Hull KR’s Lightstream Stadium, will see Meninga leave out a number of his big names.

He will instead play players who didn’t feature in last weekend’s Test victory against New Zealand in Perth, according to the Sydney Morning Herald.

“We played what I thought was our Test team against New Zealand so all the other players will get an opportunity against Scotland,” said Meninga.

“We’re putting a lot of internal pressure on players.

“In previous years, a couple of our players – Matty Moylan’s an example – didn’t get a chance to play in a Four Nations. He’ll get his chance against Scotland.”
