SWINTON LIONS assistant coach Micky Higham has been impressed with the start to pre-season, ahead of their warm-up game at North Wales Crusaders on Sunday, December 21.
Higham said: “The sessions I’ve seen, the boys have been good. Woody (coach Paul Wood) has talked about accountability and always wanting to be that bit better, and the lads have really taken that on board.
“There’s always going to be errors and a few scrappy things at the start of pre-season, but personally I think the intensity and talk is really good.
“You can be in the wrong place in defensive patterns, but if you’re talking, it gets you out of trouble. The more they talk, the quicker they gel and those combinations work quicker.”
