In this week’s League Express column, Garry Schofield stated that a team of players currently playing for clubs in the bottom four of Super League could make up a very competitive team in the competition.
With the league entering the mid-way stage, the threat of playing in the Qualifiers is become an increasing worry, with Leeds and Huddersfield looking particularly threatened with the task of fighting for survival during the summer after their disastrous start to the year.
Following Schofield’s remarks, we decided to put together a team working under those guidelines, and the results are staggering.
In the 17-man squad, FIVE of the players involved were part of England’s Test series squad that defeated New Zealand, while Sam Rapira is a World Cup winner.
