Hull KR have confirmed the signing of Mitch Garbutt on a three-year deal from Leeds Rhinos.
Garbutt won two Grand Finals while with the Rhinos and was also part of the Leeds side that beat the Robins at Wembley in 2015 to lift the Challenge Cup.
“Everyone’s been welcoming,” said Garbutt about his new club.
“It was a good first hit out and there’s some characters and some really good people in the team.
“The opportunity came up to leave Leeds, I had a chat with a few people and then met with Tim and he was really good. He was really straightforward with what he wanted and I think I’ll fit in really well here.
“I’m looking forward to the first game, I think the Derby is really exciting. I’ve always enjoyed playing against both Hull sides. I’m really looking forward to being a part of that Derby, it’s got such a big history – and obviously, I’m looking forward to the East Stand maybe cheering for me and not yelling abuse at me.”
