Myler excited to play in front of home crowd

England halfback Richie Myler is excited at the prospect of playing in front of a home crowd when he makes his first appearance in the Test series on Sunday. England will take on New Zealand at Elland Road at the weekend, a ground where Myler has played before.

“I’m excited to play at Elland Road in front of a home crowd,” said Myler. “I was fortunate to play there at the beginning of the year against Cas and it was a great atmosphere, I’m sure it’ll be the same again on Sunday.”

With the form of the England team, Myler’s convinced it’ll be easy to fit in when he replaces Sam Tomkins in the starting line-up. “It’s full of quality,” he said of the England side. “The team knows what it’s about and what it’s doing. It’s easy to fit in.

“Everyone’s really gone for the same goal and going in the same direction. It’s a very tight-knit group of people. Everyone has been playing the best rugby I’ve seen them play.”
