THE Wheelchair Super League is reverting to a home-and-away fixture format starting next month.
Bradford Bulls’ elevation to the top division makes it an eight-team league, and after last season’s truncated, two-phase schedule each club will play one another twice.
A 14-round regular season – ending on Saturday, September 5 – will be followed by play-offs and a Grand Final, on dates yet to be announced.
The fixture list has given Bradford the toughest possible start at home to defending champions Halifax Panthers on Saturday, April 11.
Also that day, Hull FC face London Roosters, Edinburgh Giants welcome Leeds Rhinos and Wigan Warriors host Sheffield Eagles.
Former champions Leeds and Wigan are looking to regain their crown while London hope to go one better after reaching a first Grand Final last year.
Sheffield and Edinburgh are both approaching their second season in the competition.
Also starting on April 11 is the second-tier wheelchair Championship, another eight-team competition played over 14 regular rounds.
The wheelchair season begins next weekend with the Challenge Cup, also won last year by Halifax as part of their treble.
It involves every team in those two divisions as a straight knockout, and Halifax start their defence on Sunday, March 29 against Batley Bulldogs.
