NEWCASTLE THUNDER’S former general manager Jordan Robinson has announced his departure from the club.
Robinson spent six years in the role before an ownership change at the end of the 2023 season, and has since been part of the group who have managed to keep professional Rugby League alive in the north east.
An exciting new partnership with York is set to bring a number of changes at Thunder, with Robinson now focusing on his full-time job at the Newcastle Red Bulls rugby union team.
He wrote: “My time with Newcastle Thunder in an official capacity has come to an end.
“The last eleven years have been one hell of a rollercoaster. It’s been more than a job to me, it’s been my life.
“Seeing our crowd grow over the years into averaging a solid 1,000-plus consistently at Kingston Park, and our huge festivals which were proudly sponsored by Moody Logistics and Dacia over the years are a highlight for me, and those Magic Fridays were so special.
“A special mention to the squad and staff from the last couple of years who, when the club had literally nothing, put their bodies on the line each week to make sure that this club continues and has a future.
“I wish nothing but the best for the guys who will be leading this great club into next season and beyond. I hope everyone gets out to support them. I certainly will and will help in any way I can and will hold this club close to my heart.
“Since day one, I’ve always believed this club can make it to the top, and there is potential for a Super League franchise in this region, and I still wholeheartedly believe that.”
