‘No need to panic’ insists Leigh Leopards boss Adrian Lam

ADRIAN LAM says Leigh Leopards do not need to panic yet – but has admitted next Saturday’s clash with Toulouse Olympique is now of huge importance.

Leigh slipped to a fourth defeat in five Super League games this season, losing 18-14 at Wakefield Trinity.

“It is a concern and that’s why the game with Toulouse at home is important,” said Lam.

“It’s clunky at the moment and hard work (to play), but there’s no need yet to panic and yell and everything else.

“I’m just going to support them, get right behind them, and be there until we turn the coin.”

Leigh expect to have England forwards Robbie Mulhern and Owen Trout available despite injury concerns at Wakefield.

“I can’t see anyone coming back next week,” said injury-hit boss Lam.

“We only had eleven players train this week. If there’s any more injuries from tonight, we probably will have to (enter the loan market).

“Robbie Mulhern had a niggly forearm which he thought he’d broken at one stage. We don’t think that’s the case so that’s good news.

“Owen Trout rolled his ankle but I think he’ll be okay too.”

Of the match, Lam added: “I’m proud of the effort. It was three tries all. If we get the goals we tie the game.

“There are three or four times we’re held up over the line. They got a try from a front-rower’s kick in the first set after half-time.

“It just seems we don’t get 50/50s at the moment, but the rugby league gods will come our way soon.”
