North Wales Crusaders sign Warrington Wolves youngsters

NORTH WALES CRUSADERS have added Welsh under-19 internationals Jake Nottingham (above) and Junior Westwood from Warrington Wolves’ academy.

Centre or winger Nottingham and halfback Westwood both contributed to Warrington’s unbeaten 2025 season at academy level and have signed their first professional contracts.

While Nottingham joined the Wolves from Bridgend Blue Bulls two years ago, Crosfields product Westwood was previously part of their scholarship side too.

Dean Muir, who succeeded Carl Forster as Crusaders head coach in October, said: “Jake is a strong, athletic outside back.

“He is a passionate Welshman and someone we tried to bring in as soon as I arrived at the club. I am delighted to be able to work with him next as he continues his rugby journey.”

“Junior is a young halfback who adds so much threat with the ball. He is competitive and someone who will only get better. He has stepped into our environment and is already thriving.”

Nottingham added: “It’s an honour to join North Wales Crusaders. I’m grateful for the opportunity and committed to working hard, learning from the squad, and doing my part to help the team achieve its goals this season.”

Westwood said: “I’m really excited to be here and grateful. I just hope when I get my opportunity I can impress and hopefully do something special this year.”
