NRL to introduce major rule change which could have Super League repercussions

THE NRL is set to introduce a major rule change that could have repercussions for Super League.

The Mole at the Wide World of Sports is reporting that any NRL side’s kick-off that goes beyond the opposition’s 20-metre line on the full will concede a seven-tackle set.

Such a rule change comes after pressure was put on the NRL last season as concussions on return runs from kick-offs continued to increase.

Now, it is hoped that with the new rule change, there will be a reduction in the speed of collisions in the first tackle from a kick-off.

It is the latest in a series of rule changes in a bid to reduce the amount of concussions suffered throughout the competition.
