ANDY LAST credited “composed” Jake Arthur for getting Hull FC over the line at Catalans Dragons.
The Australian halfback kicked the winning field-goal five minutes from time to cap a comeback 26-27 victory in Perpignan.
While Arthur hasn’t had the smoothest first season in Super League, interim Hull coach Last said that moment showed his quality to deliver a much-needed win for the strugglers.
“We’ve had inconsistency that has frustrated us all season, but we’ve always had grit and determination,” said Last.
“It was a nail-biting game, it went right down to the wire. I’m just really proud for the playing group.
“I spoke all week about showing our personality in our performance when it gets tough and to make sure you answer those questions with your effort and your actions.
“To go (26-14) down like we did in the second half and then find the extra gear when we needed it, with that composed play by Jake Arthur at the end, was great.
“Jake’s been outstanding and to come up with a big moment like that shows what a composed player he is.”
