Oxford take two Bulls players on loan

BRADFORD BULLS have agreed one-month loan deals with League One club Oxford for Adam Brook and Nathan Conroy.

Conroy, 20, has made a handful of Super League and Championship appearances in recent years, while Brook, also aged 20, is edging towards his competitive first-team bow.

However, with the pair ineligible to appear for the Bulls’ Under-19s in 2015, head coach James Lowes has allowed them to move elsewhere in order to gain much-needed game-time.

Both Brook and Conroy are available for selection this weekend, as is utility forward Dave Petersen, who has agreed dual-registration terms with the Iffley Road club.

“Given the position we find ourselves in, without the ability to operate a reserve side, it makes it difficult to keep everybody match fit and active, so this is an ideal fit for us,” said Lowes.

“Adam (Brook) and Nathan (Conroy) are now too old to play at under-19s level and we have a very big squad.

“Dave on the other hand desperately needs to get some minutes under his belt, having not played in a very long time.

“He has really suffered with an ankle injury since late last year but is now good to go.

“For his own state of mind, though, and in terms of his confidence, he needs to get out there and work his way back up to full match fitness.

“I am sure the agreement will prove beneficial for everyone involved. I know the boys are looking forward to going down there and playing a part for Oxford.”

The Bradford trio are now in-line to feature for Tim Rumford’s side on Sunday as Oxford play host to York City Knights in round two or their regular-season campaign.
