Paul Lakin excited by Hull KR’s prospects

HULL KR chief executive Paul Lakin believes there is tremendous excitement around the Super League club ahead of the 2027 season.

With Rovers ending the 2026 campaign without silverware in Willie Peters’ last season at the club, all eyes now turn to 2027 for the new era under Nathan Cayless.

Cayless, who was most recently the head coach of Parramatta Eels’ New South Wales Cup side, has joined the Robins on a three-year deal.

And it’s fair to say that there is an optimism in the air around Craven Park as season-ticket sales have exceeded 10,000 for the second year running.

With the East Yorkshire club keen to expand their stadium even further, the numbers are expected to grow.

And Lakin, who himself has been chief executive since November 2020, has praised the club’s supporters for continuing to back the side in view of Rovers’ new dawn.

In a statement, Lakin wrote: “To surpass 10,000 full-season members for the second year running is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the incredible loyalty and passion of our supporters.

“There’s already so much excitement building around next season. We’ve launched two fantastic kits, revealed our new training range and now reached 10,000 full-season members before pre-season has even begun.

“With Nathan Cayless arriving, we’re looking forward to welcoming him to the club and beginning an exciting new chapter.

“On behalf of everyone at Hull KR, I’d like to thank our supporters for their continued backing. Their commitment is what makes this club so special, and we can’t wait to see Sewell Group Craven Park packed again in 2027.”
