ST HELENS head coach Paul Rowley expressed his delight after a fifth straight win in all competitions.
Despite a devastating injury toll, Saints raced into a 28-0 lead at Toulouse Olympique and eventually won 30-16.
Rowley said: “I thought we were brilliant in the first half particularly and the manner of the scoreline was convincing but the way we played was excellent on both sides of the park.
“We wanted to replicate that in the second half. You can imagine what was said at the break by both sides.
“They came out in the second half with a lot more vigour and put pressure on us as we dipped out a bit. It’s easy to say what we didn’t do but you have to credit the opposition.
“We know they are a dangerous side and they become even more carefree when chasing the game and that proved to be the case.
“But actually with the adversity we’ve had to encounter, with players missing in the early part of the season, we stand here very happy about the manner we are going about our business with the blueprint and the DNA we have created for ourselves.
“We are finding a way to win games and win them with a little bit of style as well.”
