Poore thrilled to see Sandercock smiling again

Hull KR prop Justin Poore said it felt good to see a smile on the face of coach Craig Sandercock’s face after helping his side pick up their first win of the 2014 season against Bradford on Sunday.

“We wanted to win for Sandy,” the former State of Origin front-rower told the Hull Daily Mail.

“It was good to see him smile for the first time after the game. That was a good feeling for us. It was tough game but Sandy had us well prepared. We knew we weren’t far off and it’s a good feeling to get our first win.

“Everyone in the team was up for the game and we all did our jobs really well. Keeping Bradford to nil was important for us. Sandy would rather see us win 2-0 than win 36-30. It shows how hard we have been working on our defence.

“Last week at Wigan, our defensive patterns on the line didn’t work but we changed a few things and it worked. Kris Welham and Liam Salter were outstanding in leading that line up and stopped them from scoring.
