Powell denies Castleford interest in Josh Starling

Castleford Tigers coach Daryl Powell has stressed that the club have no interest in signing Manly forward Josh Starling for 2017.

The 26-year-old had been linked with a move to Super League and the Mend-A-Hose Jungle according to reports, but Powell has insisted he will not be signing for the Tigers.

“There’s been no contact at all. I’ve got some starlings on the washing line at home but that’s about it,” Powell told reporters at Wednesday’s pre-match press conference.

“I know there’s always rumours out there about who is and isn’t signing for people, but we’ve made no contact with him. He’s not a player we will be signing.”
