Ladbrokes say their biggest bet of the season has been placed ahead of tomorrow’s Challenge Cup semi-final – with one punter betting a five-figure sum on Leeds to make the final.
One fan has backed Leeds to the tune of £20,000 that they will make it to Wembley on 29 August, making it the biggest bet of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup to date.
The Rhinos head into Friday’s semi-final as the odds-on favourites at 8/13, with St Helens chalked up as the 11/8 outsiders. Looking ahead to Saturday’s game it’s Warrington who find themselves well backed with punters at 1/3, leaving Hull KR relatively friendless at 5/2 in the match betting.
Jessica Bridge of Ladbrokes said: “It’s been one-way traffic for Leeds in the last week and we simply cannot give Saints away. With two comprehensive wins in the bag already this season it’s not hard to see why punters are backing the Rhinos to do the double.”
She added: “As far as punters’ cash is concerned, it’ll be Rhinos v Wolves in the final next month.”
