MORE than 30,000 tickets for next year’s Magic Weekend have already been sold after going on general sale today (Monday).
The event is taking place at Hill Dickinson Stadium in Liverpool for the first time, following a sell-out 52,106 crowd for the second Ashes Test between England and Australia in November.
Only opened this summer, Everton FC’s home will host six Super League games across two days on July 4-5, with a focus on rivalries including Wigan Warriors v St Helens and the Hull derby.
It will also be the first time not every Super League club is participating, with Catalans Dragons and Toulouse Olympique to play their own derby at a to-be-determined venue.
The new location and schedule appears to have been a hit with supporters, with a record number of pre-sale tickets snapped up by club season-ticket holders and fans who registered for the priority window.
RL Commercial are reporting a 400 percent increase from early sales for the previous Magic Weekend, when a total of 64,156 saw the event at Newcastle’s St James’ Park in May.
“Surpassing 25,000 tickets before general sale shows just how much fans have embraced Magic Weekend at its new venue,” said RL Commercial’s managing director, Rhodri Jones.
“Hill Dickinson Stadium offers a fantastic stage for the sport, and we are excited to deliver an unforgettable two-day celebration of rugby league in 2026.”
Despite having the furthest to travel geographically, Hull KR are leading the way in sales, with their fans buying the most so far ahead of Wigan and St Helens.
