LIAM MOORE will take charge of the first Ashes Test between England and Australia on Saturday.
It’s the second time Moore will have officiated at Wembley this season, after refereeing June’s Challenge Cup final.
He was also the man in the middle for the Super League Grand Final earlier this month, his fourth Old Trafford appointment in five years.
An all-English team will officiate the opening Ashes fixture, with Jack Smith the video referee while Mark Craven and Richard Thompson are the touch judges.
The second Test, at Liverpool’s Hill Dickinson Stadium on Saturday, November 1, will then by refereed by Australian Grant Atkins.
Atkins took charge of his first NRL Grand Final at the start of this month and was the competition’s nomination for the series.
The referee for the final Test, at AMT Headingley in Leeds on November 8, will be decided following a review of the performances in the first two games.
Meanwhile, the RFL have confirmed that golden-point will only be used in the series if the third Test is tied, if necessary to determine a winner of the Ashes.
