Rhinos beat Hull to reach Cup semi-final

Leeds Rhinos were too strong for Hull FC tonight, winning 6-24 at the KC Stadium to reach the semi-final of the Ladbrokes Challenge Cup in front of 9,261 spectators.

In wet conditions, which led to both sides, but particularly Hull, having a high error count, the Rhinos took an early grip on the game and effectively shut Hull out of it.

The Rhinos scored three tries, while skipper Kevin Sinfield, who was the most influential player on the field, kicked six goals.

The Rhinos scored early tries in both halves.

In the first half it was Joel Moon, who followed up his own kick and leaped above Jordan Rankin to touch down.

In the second half it was Kallum Watkins who collected a wonderful pass from Sinfield after great work by Ryan Hall.

The Rhinos scored their third try after 70 minutes when they kept the ball alive superbly for Zak Hardaker to score.

Hull scored a late consolation try well taken by Jordan Abdull, with Rankin adding the goal.
