Salford hand Griffin extended contract

Salford Red Devils have announced that George Griffin is the latest player to secure a two-year contract extension with the club.

Griffin joined the Red Devils for the 2015 season on a one-year deal, following in the footsteps of older brothers Josh and Darrell who are also at the club.

Griffin follows Junior Sa’u and Carl Forster in signing new contracts with the Red Devils so far this week.

The second-rower has made 9 appearances for Salford so far this season, as well as undertaking a month’s loan spell at Wakefield Wildcats, and has recently cemented his place in the first team.

The 23-year-old has previously played for London Broncos, Hull KR and Newcastle Thunder.

Head coach Iestyn Harris said: “We’re delighted that George has extended his contract at the club. In his time here he’s shown real potential as a first team player and worked hard to cement his place in the squad. We’ll hopefully see a lot more of him during his next two years at the club.”
