Rhinos tie down Ryan Hall mark two

Leeds Rhinos have extended the contract of 18-year-old England academy international Ash Handley, who is said to have a style of play similar to that of first-team star Ryan Hall.

Like the England international, Handley hails from Oulton Raiders and is a powerful, fast three-quarter. Originally a winger, he recently switched into the centre and has scored a whopping 19 tries in 15 appearances for Leeds’ under-19s side this season.

His new deal will see him stay at the Rhinos for at least the next three years.

First-team boss Brian McDermott said: “We are really pleased to have secured Ash on a long-term contract. He has worked hard this season to improve his game, moving from the wing to centre and that has certainly brought deserved rewards for him.

“I am sure he will have a bright future at the Rhinos.”
