WHITEHAVEN have brought Ross Ainley back from Workington Town after two seasons with their local rivals.
The prop made 49 appearances for Haven in two years under Jonty Gorley before joining the coach in moving south along the coast.
After 41 games at Workington, Ainley reunites with former teammate James Newton who is preparing for a first full season as head coach.
“I’ve had a few conversations with Newts and it seems like the club is heading in the right direction,” said the 29-year-old, who played for Kells before stepping up to the professional ranks.
“I know a lot of the lads through playing with them and against them. I’m looking forward to it.”
