Leigh Centurions coach Paul Rowley has called on his team to be wiser ahead of their trip to Salford Red Devils this Sunday.
Rowley told the BBC Super League Show that The Qualifiers is a “step up” for his side after another dominating Championship campaign in 2015, and said they need to be better after an opening round loss in the Super 8s last weekend.
The Centurions lost their first home game in almost two years by slipping to defeat against Hull KR at the weekend, and Rowley believes had his team been more ruthless in the first half, they could have kicked off the Super 8s with a win, not a loss.
“It’s a step up for us, we need to get a bit wiser, and bit better,” Rowley said.
“While the first-half was excellent we were disappointed to go in at half-time with that score-line.
“We should have taken more of our chances, maybe then it would have been too much for Hull KR and we’d have had two points on the ladder.”
