Rowley disappointed after Halifax defeat

Paul Rowley revealed his disappointment after Leigh’s Million Pound Game aspirations took a hit following their 34-12 defeat to Halifax.

A disastrous first-half saw them trail 20-0 at the break, which ultimately condemned Centurions to their fourth defeat in five games.

“It wasn’t a lack of effort,” Said Rowley

Hock in his Salford days.
Gareth Hock’s return to the team couldn’t inspire Leigh

“I thought our skill level was poor, our game management was poor and we just really didn’t show up in our execution and skill level.

“Halifax deserved the win, they gave us a lesson in how to play the basics, they tackled hard, had good enthusiasm and energy and got good kicks away.”

The defeat hasn’t stopped Rowley from setting his sights on the Million Pound Game, however.

“There’s a chance for that Million Pound Game,” he said

“We have to look at other permutations, there were some good results for us yesterday (Saturday) which is the most disappointing thing.”
