Saints retain top spot with comfortable Bulls win

St Helens remain in top spot in the Super League table with a comfortable 46-22 victory over Bradford Bulls at Langtree Park, although the Bulls fought back with four tries in the final 30 minutes after being 40-0 down at that point.

But in the early part of the game it was all too easy for Saints as they overpowered the Bulls with five first-half tries.

Their treis came from James Roby, Paul Welelns, Mose Masoe, Mark Percival (who also added seven goals) and Adam Swift, with Lance Hohaia and Tommy Makinson continuing the punishment with early second-half touchdowns.

But the Bulls then pulled back to within 18 points with tries by Luke Gale, Joe Arundel, Adrian Purtell and Jamie Foster, with Foster adding three goals, before Wellens scored the final try for St Helens in the final minute of the game.

The Bulls can now surely begin planning for life in the Championship next season.
