Salford Red Devils CEO Martin Vickers believes it is vital that the club get their message into the people of Manchester over the coming months, as the club gear up to host another open day next weekend.
The Red Devils will reveal their squad numbers at the event, which takes place at the club’s AJ Bell Stadium, in a bid to ramp up interest around the club ahead of the new season.
And Vickers admits whilst there is a lot of hard work ahead for the club in terms of self-promotion, it’s now vital the surrounding areas such as Manchester are fully exploited if the club are to be a success.
”We face two very hard months before the start of the season to do everything in our power to promote the club,” Vickers told the MEN.
‘‘We have to raise our profile in Manchester and look at persuading people from within the city to become involved in Salford and rugby league.’’
