Salford name youthful squad for Dewsbury friendly

Salford Red Devils have named a young, inexperienced squad for their opening pre-season friendly this Sunday, as they take on Dewsbury Rams in Austin Buchanan’s testimonial match.

The likes of Rangi Chase, Kevin Locke and Adrian Morley are all missing, as well as plenty of other big hitters from Iestyn Harris’ ranks.

Liam Hood is in line to make his debut for the club though, as is Scott Taylor, and there is some experience in the squad from the likes of Mason Caton-Brown and Gareth Hock.

The game will give Red Devils fans plenty of opportunities to see the stars of the club’s academy system.

Salford Red Devils squad to face Dewsbury: John Ford, Conner McGrath, Mason Caton-Brown, Jay Walton, Brad England, Niall Evalds, Theo fages, Scott Taylor, Liam Hood, Adam Walne, Jordan Walne, Matty Gee, Gareth Hock, Carl Forster, Luke Menzies, George Griffin, Harry Files, Ryan Lannon, Jake Bibby, Adam Jones.
