Salford Red Devils owner rips into RFL

Salford Red Devils owner Marwan Koukash has launched an astonishing tirade on the RFL, insisting he has lost all confidence in those running Super League, after yet more disappointment with his marquee player proposal.

Koukash told reporters on Thursday that the issue wasn’t even voted on this time around, after a number of clubs blocked the vote. He believes that by being put back to the end of the season, the issue is being attempted to be brushed under the carpet, and Koukash says he will not move away from the game.

“Super League is a brilliant sport but you have to realise that it is being run by the RFL and I have lost all confidence in the RFL running Super League.

“I received verbal promises from various authorities last July that a marquee player would be introduced but the clubs, with the support of the RFL, last week managed to block the latest vote.

“They now want to discuss it in November and that to me means brushing it under the carpet.”
