Salford still without Locke and Dobson for French trip

Salford are still without several big hitters as they head for France to take on Catalans Dragons this weekend, after boss Iestyn Harris named his 19-man squad for the match.

Kevin Locke and Michael Dobson are still notable absentees having missed the win against Hull FC last Saturday, but towering forward Cory Paterson returns to the fold having missed that game.

Salford’s problems in the backs have been compounded further though, with the news that both Niall Evalds and Ben Jones-Bishop will also miss the game. It means Rangi Chase will likely slot in at fullback.

Salford 19-man squad: Chase, Fages, Ford, D Griffin, G Griffin, J Griffin, Hansen, Hauraki, Hood, Johnson, Lee, Morley, Sa’u, Tasi, Taylor, A Walne, J Walne, Walton.

Meanwhile, Catalans head coach Laurent Frayssinous has named his 19-man squad for the game too, with some big hitters returning.

Frayssinous has made two changes; Thomas Bosc, who has recovered from injury and Olivier Elima, who is back from suspension, have been called back by the staff and are set to make their return. Damien Cardace and Antoni Maria drop out of the squad.

Catalans 19-man squad: Escare, Duport, Pomeroy, Tonga, Oldfield, Carney, Dureau, Elima, Henderson, Casty, Taia, Anderson, Mounis, Bosc, Lima, Whitehead, Garcia, Bousquet, Baitieri.
