Salford Red Devils owner Marwan Koukash has revealed that he’s in discussions to potentially take a game into Manchester in the future.
The Red Devils owner addressed the media at a press conference today, where the club revealed a new sponsorship deal with Mitsubishi, their first venture into Rugby League.
And Koukash admitted that he’s looking at taking games to both Manchester and even into North Wales, after the club unveiled a partnership with North Wales Crusaders earlier this month.
“I’ve brought in extra resources in order to promote the club,” he said.
“We are in one of the biggest areas geographically when you talk about Manchester and Salford – there’s lots of people to reach out to and we’ll be doing that, even if it means taking a game on the road to Manchester.”
He continued: “There’s discussions going on to take the game elsewhere too, like Wales; we’ve signed up with North Wales Crusaders and we need to capitalise that.
“This club is going places, and today demonstrates that. It’s a big achievement for a club like us to bring an international brand into this sport, and by hook or by crook I’ll do everything in my capacity to make this work.”
Koukash also unveiled his plans for the next few years at Salford – which you can read in full in next Monday’s League Express.
TotalRL.com also has videos with Koukash, Justin Carney and Robert Lui upcoming this week – as well as a Salford-related podcast.
