Scott Grix set to reuinte with brother at Halifax

Scott Grix is set to join Halifax on a season-long loan from Huddersfield, TotalRL understands.

The fullback will return to Halifax to reunite with brother Simon, who has been placed in charge following Richard Marshall’s departure last week.

It has been almost 15 years since the fullback last played for his hometown club, having spent one season at Fax following their relegation from Super League in 2004.

Since then, Grix, capped 22 times by Ireland, has gone on to enjoy an 11-season career in Super League with Wakefield and Huddersfield.

The 35-year-old is currently in his second spell at the Giants as player/coach. He will continue to fulfil his coaching duties at Huddersfield while playing part-time for Fax. He has made four appearances for the Giants this season.

Halifax won their first game under Simon Grix as they picked up an impressive win over Sheffield last weekend. While the club hasn’t officially confirmed the former Warrington forward as their next head coach, it’s understood he will take on the role until the end of the current campaign at the very least.
